This report is a clinico-statistical review of experience with 714 cases of various anal disorders
which were treated at the Suwon provincial hospital from January, 1960 to June, 1969.
1) The hemorrhoid was most common incidence involving 446 cases (62.95%), and remaining
included 74 cases (10.35%) of anal fissure, 56 cases(7.79%) of perianal abscess, 39 cases (5.46%)
of anal fistula, 9 cases (1.25%) of imperforated anus.
2) The sex distribution assumed a ratio of 4.1:1 with 576 males and 138 females and age distrib
ution indicated a predominant incidence in 2nd and 3rd decade (71.1%).
3) The most frequent location of hemorrhoid was right, side of anal region and other anal disorders
were seen frequently in the posterior aspect of anus.
4) The main clinical symptoms of the cases were bleeding, constipation, pain, itching sensation
around the anus.
5) Only 197 cases (27.59%) of 714 cases were underwent surgery and rest of the cases were
treated conservatively.
